Every three seconds someone somewhere attempts suicide, professor
Brunon Holyst said Monday at a Warsaw conference on the rising
suicide rate.
Holyst pointed out that suicides took more lives than wars and
crime.
Around 10-20 thousand Poles are suicidally inclined, five times more men than women commit suicide. Also on the rise are teenage suicides (4-5 thousand annually).
Among the most frequent suicide causes are guilt, a sense of inferiority, partner loss, depression, hopelessness and loss of control.MB
